What does the reading time estimate assume?
About 200 words per minute, the standard estimate. It is a rough guide, not a measurement of any individual reader.
Why does a scanned PDF show zero words?
Scanned pages are pictures of text, not text itself, and this site has no OCR. Only real, selectable text can be counted.
